Watch Fernando Valenzuela Tribute Ahead of Dodgers vs Yankees World Series Game 1
The Los Angeles Dodgers honored the late Fernando Valenzuela ahead of Game 1 of the World Series Friday evening.
Valenzuela’s No. 34 was painted on the mound. Orel Hershiser and Steve Yeager, former teammates of Valenzuela, were supposed to throw out the first pitch.
Instead, they honored Valenzuela by wearing his jersey and placed the ball under his number on the mound. Valenzuela’s family stood on the field to witness the commemoration for the legendary pitcher.
Orel Hershiser and Steve Yeager paid their respects to Fernando Valenzuela today with his jersey and a special nod to his greatness on the Dodger Stadium mound.
