This past season gave Los Angeles Dodgers fans plenty to smile about, and to bring in the New Year, we at Dodgers Nation will be looking back at our 10 favorite highlights from 2025.
Before that, though, we have four honorable mentions which didn’t quite make the Top 10.
Choosing just 10 moments from the whole season is no easy task, and we believed these highlights deserved some love.
Honorable Mentions
Edwin Diaz Signs With the Dodgers
Starting with the most recent occurrence of the whole list, the Dodgers signed All-Star closer Edwin Diaz to a three-year, $69 million contract Dec. 9. While he hasn’t yet played a game in Dodger Blue, Diaz is among the best closers in the league and will be a huge boost to the Dodgers’ bullpen.
The right-hander posted a 1.63 ERA through 62 appearances in 2025, striking out 98 batters through 66.1 innings pitched.
Kiké Hernandez Re-Signs With LA
Kiké Hernandez has established himself as a fan favorite in Los Angeles, and we’d be doing a disservice to a legend if we didn’t include him somewhere on our list. Hernandez re-signed with the Dodgers Feb. 9, and played a huge part in the Dodgers’ season.
He got off to a hot start in the 2025 postseason, coming through in big moments through the first two series, and helped turn a crucial double play in Game 6 of the World Series to force a Game 7.
Benches Clear in Dodgers vs. Padres
The Dodgers and Padres series haven’t disappointed in recent seasons, and 2025 wasn’t an exception.
The rivals played each other seven times in 11 days in the middle of the season, and things came to a boiling point in the final game of a four-game set June 19.
Dodgers reliever Jack Little plunked Fernando Tatis Jr. on the hand in the top of the ninth while the Dodgers trailed by five runs, marking the third time he had been hit by a Dodgers pitcher in nine days. This prompted Padres manager Mike Shildt to rush out of the dugout while screaming and pointing fingers at Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Roberts promptly left the dugout to meet Shildt, and a couple of shoves between the managers caused the benches and bullpens to empty. The Dodgers sparked a comeback in the bottom of the ninth but ultimately couldn’t complete a four-game sweep of the Padres, but still won nine of their 13 matchups over the course of the season.
Shohei Ohtani Trolls Diamondbacks’ Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
Shohei Ohtani had plenty of big moments over the course of the year, but this was one of our favorites.
The Dodgers and Diamondbacks had a slugfest May 9, with the teams combining for 25 runs in a thriller. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a grand slam to tie the game at eight apiece in the bottom of the fifth inning, and held his hands up after hitting the ball.
The Dodgers fell behind, 11-8, heading into the ninth inning before rallying to knotting the game at 11 due to a late-inning rally. Ohtani found himself at the plate with two on and one out, and did what he does. The superstar crushed a three-run homer and mocked Gurriel’s celebration, holding his arms up as he began to run the bases.
