Los Angeles Dodgers’ former top prospect Bobby Miller is on the cusp of his return, and it has been a long time coming.
Miller currently has a locker in the Dodgers clubhouse and is serving on the taxi squad in case the team makes an injured-list move.
According to manager Dave Roberts, LA is monitoring possible bullpen injuries; while no move is imminent, Miller’s ability to return shows how far he has come recently.
The righty is currently on a minor league rehab assignment after missing the bulk of the season with right shoulder soreness and a back issue.
If Miller returns to the Dodgers, it will be as a bullpen arm, serving as a low-leverage, long-relief pitcher.
Given his fall from emerging MLB stardom, such a role may help him reassert himself in a crowded Dodgers pitching room.
In 14 innings at Triple-A, Miller has pitched 14 innings with a 3.86 ERA, making seven different appearances and one start during that time.
He has walked four hitters and struck out 17, allowing six runs in total and two home runs.
Compared to his 2025 season in Triple-A, where he had a 5.66 ERA with 61 walks and just 83 strikeouts, Miller has a much better ratio of avoiding traffic, and the stuff is allowed to shine.

Miller was a former top prospect for the Dodgers, showing a triple-digit fastball that really made a strong impression.
His debut came in 2023, when he pitched 124.1 innings and posted a 3.76 ERA. He had a 98th-percentile fastball, which made it hard for hitters to make hard contact.
However, after that season, his fastball lost some movement, and his command slipped, leading to more walks and hittable pitches.
Miller spent 2024 and 2025 yo-yoing between the minors and the majors, and while he is still in a similar spot in his career, with health and some mechanical tweaks, he could start climbing the organizational ladder.
