Chris Taylor Exits Dodgers’ Game Early vs Giants With Apparent Injury

Los Angels Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor broke up the San Francisco Giants’ no-hit bid in the bottom of the seventh inning with a double to right-center field. Unfortunately, he also appeared to hurt himself on the play.

While rounding first base, Taylor began to run with a bit of a limp. After a quick discussion at second base with manager Dave Roberts and a trainer, Taylor was removed from the game. He appeared to hurt something in his leg area.

Here’s a video of the play:

After sliding into second base, Taylor was in immediate pain. Taylor, who’s as tough as any player in baseball, took no time coming out of the game. That’s not exactly a great sign.

With his hit in the seventh, Taylor is now slashing .167/.277/.265 on the year with three home runs and 15 runs batted in. His versatility was going to be especially important with the recent injury to Miguel Rojas, who was placed on the injured list with a flexor strain on Wednesday.

The Dodgers officially announced that Taylor left the game with left groin tightness.
