Dodger Notes: Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani Rock Colorado; Walker Buehler’s Outlook; Roki Sasaki Update

The Dodgers can enjoy their day off Monday after getting back-to-back home runs by Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday to walk off the Colorado Rockies, 6-5.

The San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks coincidentally orchestrated come-from-behind wins Sunday, leaving the Dodgers three and six games ahead of their nearest competitors in the NL West, respectively.

The Dodgers’ magic number to clinch the division is 4. If they beat the Padres twice in their three-game series at Dodger Stadium beginning Tuesday, they can clinch at home. If the Padres win all of their remaining games, the division is theirs.

Here are all the headlines you might have missed Sunday:

Walker Buehler’s Challenging Season and His Outlook

Despite a tough season marked by inconsistency, Walker Buehler remains hopeful as the playoffs approach. After a recent game he expressed confidence in his recovery and performance. Buehler is positioning himself to be a crucial player in the postseason.

Shohei Ohtani Breaks More Franchise Records

Shohei Ohtani recently surpassed Shawn Green and Adrián Beltré in the Dodgers franchise’s record book, setting yet another new benchmark in an outstanding season. Ohtani’s 6-for-6, three-homer, two-steal game cemented his historic 50-50 season and electrified the sports world.

Roki Sasaki Linked to Dodgers in Offseason Move

The Dodgers are reportedly among the top contenders to sign Japanese pitching sensation Roki Sasaki. Following a stellar career in Nippon Professional Baseball, Sasaki’s addition would be a game-changer for any MLB team.
