Mookie Betts is an American professional baseball player who currently plays as an outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was born on October 7, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee. Betts began his Major League Baseball career with the Boston Red Sox, where he established himself as one of the best all-around players in the game. He won the American League Most Valuable Player award in 2018 and has been a 6-time All-Star, a 6-time Gold Glove winner, and a 5-time Silver Slugger award recipient. He’s also won 6 Gold Glove awards and earned Wilson Overall Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Betts is known for his exceptional hitting, defensive ability, and speed on the bases. In 2020, he was traded to the Dodgers and helped lead the team to their first World Series championship in 32 years. Before ever playing a regular season game for Los Angeles, Mookie and the Dodgers agreed to a 12-year, $365 million contract which included a $65 million signing bonus. The deal will take him through his age 39 season.

Betts is an avid bowler and has bowled professionally in PBA events. He’s recorded multiple perfect 300 games in his life. The star athlete has also played golf in multiple PGA Tour proam events.

In 2023 he established The 5050 Foundation as his official charity.
