Dodgers Activate Clayton Kershaw, DFA Yohan Ramirez

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially activated future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw off the 60-day injured list to start Thursday’s game in what will be his 2024 debut. To make room for him on both the 40-man and active rosters, Yohan Ramirez was designated for assignment.

Kershaw is officially back after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery that’s kept him out for the first four months of the season. Kershaw went 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA across 131.2 innings pitched in 2023, but struggled in his one and only postseason start.

Kershaw is 56 strikeouts away from joining the 3,000 strikeout club. He would be the 20th player to join the exclusive club.

Ramirez gets DFA’d after after making 27 appearances for the Dodgers, going 0-4 with a 5.52 ERA.

  1. FINALLY ROBERTS’ PET JOHAN RAMIREZ WAS DFA’D! WHAT TOOK SO LONG? WE SAID IT WAAAY BACK AFTER THE LOVE FEST HUG BTW HM & ROBERTS! PERHAPS YESTERDAY’S LOSS COULD’VE BEEN A WIN EXCEPT FOR THE AWFUL PERFORMANCE FROM RAMIREZ. HE NEVER BELONGED ON THIS ROSTER IN THE 1ST PLACE. ANOTHER ROBERT’S ‘HUNCH’ GONE WRONG. HAVE YOU NOTICED, OVER ROBERTS’ DODGERS YEARS, THAT HE MANAGES BY HUNCH? IS TYLER GLASNOW WORTH 30 MIL/YEAR? ROBBIE RAY IS! LASTLY, WITH THE TRADE DEADLINE APPROACHING, IS IT TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO CHRIS TAYLOR, CAVAN BIGGIO, MIGUEL VARGAS, JAMES OUTMAN & POSSIBLY KIKE HERNANDEZ?

  2. Well, Ramirez getting DFA’ed should please a lot of people on this site… I’m just happy to have Kersh back on the bump and though he looked a little rusty. he did okay. Too bad he didn’t get the win, though.
