The Los Angeles Dodgers added a young pitcher to the team ahead of Spring Training, which starts in a couple of months as they round out the roster.
The Dodgers signed Nick Frasso to a minor league deal, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.
“The Dodgers have brought back RHP Nick Frasso on a minor league deal, source confirms. Had been non-tendered last month,” Ardaya wrote.
“Talented prospect who has had some injury trouble that has kept him from an MLB debut. Now, he remains in the org.”

Frasso was non-tendered by the Dodgers back in November, but the 27-year-old returns on a minor league deal that should give him another chance to make his major league debut.
He was traded to the Dodgers back in August of 2022, starting in Double-A before cracking Triple-A in August of the following year.
The Dodgers added him to the 40-man roster in November 2023, though he ended up going through labrum surgery on his shoulder and a procedure on his hip.
He missed the entire 2024 season and did not return until 2025. He made 43 appearances, posting a 5.49 ERA.

His fall in performance after his surgery was a shame, since right before the injury and procedure, he was the No. 2 overall prospect in the team’s farm system, according to MLB.com.
The Dodgers clearly still believe he can contribute to the team if he gets right once again. His fastball hovers around 94.6 mph, and his pitch mix is solid.
Frasso projects as a long-relief option out of the bullpen in the majors, especially since the Dodgers already have the best rotation in baseball.

Considering the reliever woes that the back-to-back champions endured last season, he should get an extended look over the spring and could potentially contribute down the line.
During his minor-league career, Frasso has had a 3.81 ERA in 229 career appearances with a 26.5 percent strikeout rate.
