It’s a fan favorite tradition over the last few years. Dodgers team dress up travel day.
A few years back, veterans in the clubhouse voted to take away the antiquated tradition of rookie hazing where first year players were often dressed up in skimpy outfits or things just plainly not PC in today’s climate.
In exchange, a new tradition was born and it keeps getting better every year.
Yes, after Sunday afternoon’s victory over the San Diego Padres, the entire Dodgers organization — at least those who travel with the team — put on their best costumes for one of the best days of the year.
Most of the imagery is on Instagram, so we encourage you to swipe left and bask in the full glory of the garb.
Chippendale’s dancers (Andre Jackson, Justin Turner, Joey Gallo, and Cody Bellinger). Tiger Woods and his caddy (Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman). Wolf of Wallstreet Trea Turner. THE SANDLOT (Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor, Miguel Vargas, and some conditioning coaches)!!
Hands down, 2022 was the best year yet for this tradition.

Here are some more from the players’ personal accounts.
The Sandlot might honestly be the best of all. Chris Taylor is a dead ringer for Squints, and Miguel Vargas has already been compared to Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez multiple times in his young career.
For the added enjoyment for the players, the team also clinched a playoff berth with Sunday’s win, and could clinch the NL West some time this week. Perhaps in Arizona just in time for a pool party…
