Dodgers’ Brusdar Graterol Expected To Throw Bullpen Session This Week
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed some promising news on Sunday regarding reliever Brusdar Graterol, who has yet to make his 2024 debut.
According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, Roberts addressed the media ahead of the Dodgers’ Sunday night game against the Yankees and said that Graterol has progressed in his throwing program far enough to throw a bullpen session at Camelback Ranch this week.
Graterol has been out all season due to right shoulder inflammation and pain. The last substantive update about the right-hander was at the end of April, when Graterol was still shut down. At the time, the right-hander was still feeling discomfort in his arm when throwing and wasn’t bouncing back as well as the team had hoped.
Because the reliever has struggled to maintain a consistent program, he is starting from a spring training level and has to build himself up. Roberts has said before that Graterol will need a “long program” to get back to the major leagues.
Graterol played a huge role in the Dodgers’ bullpen last season, throwing 67.1 innings with a 1.20 ERA.
