The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 4-3 to the Miami Marlins as their offense returned to its previous lows.
Similar struggles surface
Both of the Dodgers’ runs came in the first inning from two different homers by Mookie Betts and Max Muncy.
They were back-to-back long balls that looked to start the game off with a bang, but after that, the Dodgers struggled to get consistent contact and hits.
The Dodgers got only three hits and five walks, and without the home runs, it was just two hits.
The offense has done just enough to win over the Dodgers’ eight-game win streak, but they failed to do that on Saturday.
LA went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position, and left a total of six base runners. While they didn’t have many chances, they still left something on the table.
Tonight’s performance was very much like the Dodgers’ baseball in August, when the team played below-league-average ball.
The player who put on the best at-bats of the night was Josue De Paula, who walked twice and continues to show why he was so hyped.
Tyler Glasnow’s rough start
Glasnow only managed to pitch four innings, allowing five hits, four walks, and seven strikeouts, along with seven punchouts, but ended up getting charged with all four runs.
He allowed three of them while in the game, and the fourth came when Jack Dreyer came into the game.
Since coming back from the IL, Glasnow has not looked as sharp in terms of command. His stuff has been quite good, but he often finds himself in unfavorable counts that force him to make pitches in the strike zone.
Bullpen-wise, Justin Wrobleski and Seth Halvorsen looked really good, while Jack Dreyer looked relatively.
The Dodgers will try to get back on a winning track on Sunday for the series finale.
