Dodgers Fans Pick Player of the Week: Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani or Freddie Freeman?

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had quite a week, taking the first game against the Athletics after winning two of three against the Padres in San Diego and sweeping the Minnesota Twins.

During this stretch, several Dodgers have had strong performances, including Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman, but there can only be one player of the week.

So we put it to you, the fans, and you had plenty of opinions.

Mookie Betts heating up again

After a slow start to the season, including an oblique injury, Betts had a big week, including three home runs and seven RBIs to go along with a .381 average and 1.266 OPS.

Commenters like @justwinjay said the player of the week is “definitely Mook.”

“Looking like a consistent bat again in the lineup, less ‘mental fog’ too,” they wrote.

“Mookie heating up has been the best all around for the team. It’s contagious,” added @__terminallychill__.

Freddie Freeman rakes

Freeman hasn’t had any home runs this week, but he’s still been highly productive.

Freeman is hitting .474 this week with a 1.124 OPS, knocking in three runs in the process.

That production certainly impressed @el_vatocruz, who chose Freeman for the honor.

“He’s been consistent,” they wrote.

Shohei Ohtani continues to do it all

Once again, though, Ohtani continues to excel on both offense and defense.

As a pitcher, he got the win over the Twins, allowing five hits over six innings of work.

In 89 pitches, he allowed three runs, two of them earned, and struck out eight batters like walking two.

And Monday night, he blasted an enormous 432 foot homer to right field against the A’s, pausing to watch before rounding the bases.

Some fans who supported Ohtani for player of the week indicated their pick with a unicorn emoji.

Other fans, though, said they couldn’t pick between the options.

“Who cares!” wrote @ez_insta247. “That fact that all three of those guys are Dodgers is ???.”
