When the trade deadline comes around, the Los Angeles Dodgers seem to be at the center of conversations across the league.
The Dodgers aren’t any strangers to a blockbuster, and they openly pursued several big names last season, especially in the closing department. They have the opportunity to chase some more big names in the 2026 season, such as Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, but their priorities lie elsewhere according to Jim Bowden of The Athletic.
“When I reached out to the Dodgers, they responded ‘just get healthy’ and I’m actually in agreement,” Bowden wrote. “They really have no obvious needs. If they can get Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Edwin Díaz all back at some point, they still have the best team in the sport. However, don’t count them out if the Tigers deal Tarik Skubal.”
The Dodgers have certainly struggled with this problem over the last few seasons, missing most of their players for long stretches of the regular season. Their injury struggles bled into the postseason in 2024, and everyone managed to get healthy in time for the postseason in 2025, though both seasons ended in the same manner.

Which Dodgers are on the Injured List?
The Dodgers are riddled with injuries at the moment, with several key pitchers as well as a couple of position players all sitting on the injured list.
Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell are the biggest names on the injured list at the moment, though $69 million closer Edwin Diaz is also a costly miss for the Dodgers. Both Snell and Glasnow have pitched at some point this season, though neither have managed to stay completely healthy since arriving in Los Angeles.
On the position player side, catcher Will Smith is on the injured list with a neck injury, and Teoscar Hernandez has been out for a few weeks with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Offseason re-signing Kiké Hernandez is also out at the moment.
The Dodgers have already begun getting healthy, though, as Tommy Edman—who missed the first two and a half months of he season recovering from offseason ankle surgery—returned to the Dodgers’ lineup on Wednesday. Max Muncy also suffered an injury earlier in the season, though promptly returned to the lineup.
Three months still remain in the season, so the Dodgers have plenty of time to come back for another strong postseason campaign.
