Dodgers Lineup vs. Reds: Shohei Ohtani Out Again as Tarik Skubal Takes the Mound

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off a 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds in the series opener on Monday, and they’ll look to take the three-game series on Tuesday, but they’ll do so without the services of superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani returned after four days off on Monday but failed to deliver a hit, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk.

He’s been battling multiple injuries, and the team hopes that the time off will give him a better chance to heal.

With Ohtani out, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has shuffled the lineup and batting order.

Dodgers’ Lineup vs. Reds

1. Tommy Edman, CF
2. Mookie Betts, SS
3. Will Smith, C
4. Freddie Freeman, DH
5. Teoscar Hernández, RF
6. Miguel Rojas, 2B
7. Alex Call, LF
8. Max Muncy, 3B
9. Kiké Hernández, 1B

With Ohtani out and thus not leading off, Tommy Edman will hit first and play center field.

Shortstop Mookie Betts hits second and catcher Will Smith hits third, with starting first baseman Freddie Freeman instead playing DH.

Teoscar Hernández hits fifth and plays right field in place of Kyle Tucker, and Miguel Rojas will play second base and hit sixth.

Alex Call shifts over to left to take Teo Hernández’s normal spot, while the third baseman Max Muncy hits eighth.

Batting last is Kiké Hernández, who will fill in for Freeman at first.
