The Dodgers are getting set for a four-game series in Colorado with right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (10-8, 2.84 ERA) taking the bump for LA in the series opener.
Opposite Yamamoto will be left-hander Kyle Freeland (3-12, 5.18 ERA), who’s coming off his best start of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals, where he pitched 7.1 shutout innings.
Will Smith, who played three in a row against the Padres, is getting the day off despite a lefty being on the bump for Colorado.

Another embarrassing loss to a crap team. Missed opportunities early to score against this garbage team sums up this entire season. Dave Roberts is more concerned about players feelings than about winning. Hernandez cost Yamamoto 2 runs in this game with his horrendous fielding. Any momentum they had from the Padres series is gone. But you can bet that the rose colored glasses wearing folks will say at least the Padres lost. Keep on with that lame BS and see where it gets you come October.
Kennedy is atrocious. I don’t get that at all. Another late inning collapse last night vs. the Rockies. They need to back up that impressive sweep of San Diego by taking 3 of 4 vs. Colorado. Not a good start. But hey, the guy we acted like sellers at the deadline with, Dustin May, has had 2 very solid starts in a row in Boston. Glad we didn’t need him.
For Pete’s Sake bring up Ryan Ward already. He is a hitting machine. He deseres a call up more so than Call or Kennedy. Hey Dodgers release Ryan Ward and let him play on another team. This is just getting ridiculous a this point in time.
100 percent. They also have no lefty PH on the bench. they need a spark and maybe Ward could provide it. he can’t be worse than Conforto.
