The Los Angeles Dodgers lost five prominent minor-leaguers to free agency, and 11 players left in total.
As the offseason kicks off and the Dodgers organization reshuffles, some minor league players have opted for free agency to hit the market.
The notable minor league free agents
Charlie Barnes, Ryder Ryan, Chadwick Tromp, Cole Irvin, and Ryan Fitzgerald are among the players available to sign elsewhere.
Barnes made four relief appearances for the Dodgers in 2026 as a depth piece, logging 10 innings and posting a 6.30 ERA. He was yo-yoed up and down the majors a couple of times before staying with the Dodgers in Triple-A.

Irvin pitched one game for the Dodgers on July 31, 2026, when the team badly needed someone to eat innings as the bullpen was taxed.
He threw 102 pitches and gave up six runs in six innings, then was sent down to the minors.
The players who did not play
Fitzgerald was a waiver-wire pickup, added from the Minnesota Twins. He never saw the field for the major league club, even after being outrighted off the 40-man roster, but he stayed with the Dodgers Triple-A club all season.
The utility man hit .315/.375/.485 in Triple-A, an impressive showing that should earn him more chances.
Additionally, the Dodgers added Chadwick Tromp as a depth player since the catcher position was banged up.
He stayed in Triple-A, never getting a call-up as Will Smith eventually returned from injury, and the team added two catchers at the trade deadline.
Finally, Ryder Ryan, River’s son, signed a minor league deal ahead of the 2026 season, pitching for the Dodgers in Spring Training before moving to Triple-A to pitch alongside his brother, River.

The Dodgers ended up trading River as part of the Tarik Skubal trade.
Jose Meza, Jerming, Matt Gorski, Nick Robertson, Christian Suarez, and Nelson Quiroz are all free agents after being part of the Dodgers organization in 2026

This is click bait headline. Nothing to see here as these players are pretty much journeymen minor leaguers that arent/werent “notable contributors”.
