Player of the Day – Tom Windle
Windle is quietly having a strong season for the Quakes. His start Thursday was in Lancaster, where the wind was blowing out at nearly 30 MPH and he went seven scoreless innings.
The 22-year-old left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.93 and he’s posting strong peripherals, with a K/9 of nearly 8, less than three walks per nine innings and only three homers in 68.2 innings. While his fastball velocity has been in the low 90s, he’s shown a very strong slider to keep hitters at bay.
