Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain Previews World Series on KTLA

The man, the myth, the legendary personality behind the best Los Angeles Dodgers podcast, Doug McKain, previewed the World Series on KTLA Thursday.

Los Angeles will host the New York Yankees on Friday and Saturday sending Jack Flaherty and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound to start the first two games.

“It has been a little bit of a mixed bag for Flaherty this postseason,” McKain said. “The Padres series didn’t have a great start and then in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Mets, he went seven scoreless. … and then he didn’t have a good start in Game 5.”

McKain continued discussing the addition of Yamamoto and how much he loves the big stage and the bright lights.

The one thing that sticks out to McKain for the Dodgers to win is the ability to hit with runners in scoring position. In years past, the offense has gone cold and had difficulty just getting on base — but this year has been a different story.

The offense has hit .311 with runners in scoring position while the Yankees are hitting .181.

“This all started in the NLDS,” McKain said. “You look at Game 5, who gets the big home run to give the Dodgers their first lead against a Yu Darvish that they struggled with in Game 2… it was Kiké Hernández.”
