Dodgers Notes: Ex-LA Outfielder Joins Rival, Pitcher Named Trade Candidate, Shohei Ohtani Making $100M
A former outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers has signed a deal with a juggernaut National League rival after reportedly not getting many free agent offers. Fans may remember this player was the final batter that L.A. faced before securing their eighth World Series victory.
Additionally, a right-handed pitcher in a talent-heavy pitching room between the Dodgers’ roster and the farm system has been labeled as a potential trade candidate. The 25-year-old was a candidate to land a spot in the starting rotation, but he is instead starting the season in Triple-A.
Finally, one of the most notable players in MLB, Shohei Ohtani, is set to make over $100 million this year. The Dodgers are only paying him $2 million of that amount as a recent report shows just how lucrative Ohtani’s off the diamond ventures are.

We’ve written on Dodger Nation about Bobby Miller’s lack of command due to his awful mechanics, and now he’s been sent back to AAA Oklahoma City. It’s been reported he could be traded (trading deadline), especially if he continues to struggle, and cannot correct his pitching mechanics, which are directly related to his lack of control and command of his pitches. We still believe Nolan Arenado will find his way to the Dodgers, replacing an aging Max Muncy. We can’t call him Fat Max anymore, since he lost 20 pounds over the off season, but Muncy is NOT the answer at 3rd base, and Arenado would be a great addition, and perfect fit, at 3rd with his All Star glove and bat!
