Dodgers Notes: Ex-LA Outfielder Retires, Dave Roberts Says He Deserved Manager Award, Shohei Ohtani Pranked

Shohei Ohtani made his Cactus League debut on Friday, and made quite the statement.

Ohtani homered in his first at-bat, crushing a home run to the opposite field to make it known he was picking up right where he left off in 2024.

In other Dodgers news, a former L.A. outfielder retired and joined the Dodgers organization as a hitting coach.

Also, manager Dave Roberts made it known that he felt the team was snubbed from the Manager of the Year award, which he called an “organizational award.”

And finally, Roberts got his revenge on Ohtani in what is now a prank battle between the two Dodgers.
