Dodgers Notes: Walker Buehler Breaks Silence, 2 Pitchers Out Most of 2025, Luis Robert Trade?

Happy holidays, Dodgers fans!

While Christmas Day and the first night of Hanukkah were both hopefully a great break for everyone, Wednesday was also the day Dodgers fans got their first message from Walker Buehler since he signed with the Boston Red Sox.

Buehler sent a message on his personal X account to Dodger fans who may have got his No. 21 jersey as a gift for the holidays.

In other Dodgers news, general manager Brandon Gomes recently gave an update on two injured pitchers, saying they are expected to miss a majority of the 2025 season.

And finally, as Teoscar Hernandez and the Dodgers remain apart on contract talks, could the Dodgers pivot to a Luis Robert Jr. trade?

  1. I’m sorry to see Buehler go! The media puts out that the Dodgers will have enough starting pitching, what with the lessening of the injured list and the addition of Blake Snell. What a load of horse feathers! The media has become a shill for propaganda, even infecting the sports reporting pages. It’s so well known and the evidence shows that dodger pitchers go down with injuries like flies! Plus the obvious fact that you cannot have enough good starting pitching. Added, that Friedman talks about getting another reliever now in order to avoid having to do so in July, which is what he’s had to do in consistently in recent years for his starting pitching! Buehler could’ve been offered a qualifying offer and it would’ve been warranted, given how he pitched at the end of the year and how he looked on the mound. Was he fun to watch at the end there or what! So, is there something else going on that we, the fans, are not privy to? Remember when they let both Seager and Turner walk, and look where that left them at the shortstop position. Could this turn out to be a similar proposition?

    1. Consider this! What if the Dodgers didn’t offer him the qualifying offer because they knew it wouldn’t give Buehler the best opportunity to test the Market for his true value? The qualifying offer almost guarantees that Bueler comes back to the Dodgers but where do you pitch him, as the 5th or 6th starter? He wouldn’t want that because it wouldn’t give him the stage to really showcase his abilities and get his big payday in 2026. Also…IF you’re guaranteeing the Dodgers will have as many injuries in 2025 as they did in 2024, then wouldn’t it stand to reason that Bueler might also be on of the injured in your scenario???
