The Los Angeles Dodgers’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday was set to start at 3:40 p.m., but rain has delayed the first pitch.
Hours before the game, Citizens Bank Park was hit by a downpour, naturally raising concerns about whether the game would be played at all.
However, in the Phillies’ latest update, the team expects conditions to improve and the game to be played.
At 4:13 p.m., Philly announced that the first pitch will take place at 5 p.m. PST.
The Phillies posted a warning to fans at the park about floods and informed them of the delay.
“Tonight’s game will begin in a delay. We expect conditions to improve and plan to play tonight’s game,” the Phillies wrote.
“A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for the area. Please do not travel until conditions are safe and you are able to do so.”
Manager Dave Roberts said the first pitch should come in on time, but it seems the water has lingered long enough to delay it.

The Dodgers are coming off a bad game against the Phillies on Monday in the series opener, in which the team surrendered 10 runs, six of which were charged to Emmet Sheehan.
Mookie Betts got hot at the plate, but that was just about the only major positive from a playoff-like game.
Luckily, the Dodgers get Justin Wrobleski on the mound, who has been stellar and got a well-deserved All-Star nod.
Wrobleski has a 2.69 ERA through 100.1 innings pitched and has 73 strikeouts throughout his 16 appearances.
