Dodgers Prospect Puts Name on Radar With 104-mph Pitch
In an era where velocity is king, the Dodgers have a prospect throwing as hard as anyone. 20-year-old, right-handed reliever Reynaldo Yean threw a fastball that clocked an official 104 mph.
Yean joins the ranks of some of the game’s best pitchers with that throw. His stats with the Dodgers Single-A affiliate also jump off the page.
In 10.2 innings, he has yet to allow a run, and batters are only hitting a measly 0.052 off Yean. In that span, he has struck out 19(!) batters and only issued five walks.
At just 20 years old it’s still too difficult to project him at the major league level. However, with that velocity and early production, he has all the makeup of a high-leverage reliever.

Yean had a tough day yesterday. He gave up 3 ER on 2 hits and 3 BBs and 1 K in one inning. It moved his ERA up from 0.00 to 3.09. But for a 20yo, he seems to have a very high ceiling. Definitely exciting.
He’s now at 8 BB in 11 innings. Kid has a long way to go. Wishing him the best.
And here comes another TJ surgery prospect!
