Dodgers Release Statement on Fernando Valenzuela Amid Health Concerns

The Los Angeles Dodgers have released a statement regarding Fernando Valenzuela amid health concerns for the former Dodgers pitcher and current Dodgers broadcaster.

“Fernando Valenzuela has stepped away from the Dodger broadcast booth for the remainder of this year to focus on his health. He and his family truly appreciate the love and support of fans as he aims to return for the 2025 season, and they have asked for privacy during this time.”

Last week, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported that Valenzuela was leaving the Dodgers’ broadcast booth. Then, David Faitelson reported on social media that Valenzuela had been checked into a hospital for unknown reasons.

Now, the Dodgers have officially spoken out on the matter, saying Valenzuela will not be in the broadcast booth for the postseason, but is hoping to return in 2025.
