Dodgers Stars Set to Assemble Soon at Camelback Ranch: ‘It’s Like the Avengers’
The Los Angeles Dodgers are poised to be baseball’s next mightiest heroes. Since the creation of Murder’s Row, there has yet to be a team as dominant, powerful, and popular.
But as Opening Day quickly approaches, the genesis of baseball’s next dynasty lies in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers’ offseason was like no other as each addition signaled yet another reinforcement to the team still holding the Commissioner’s Trophy. The offseason has been so unbelievably successful it has Dodgers fans rejoicing and other fans groaning.
While baseball fans have yet to digest the greatness of the Dodgers roster, even L.A. players have expressed astonishment with the numerous blockbuster signings the organization has engineered.
At DodgerFest on Saturday, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow tried to explain what it meant to be a part of such a talented roster.
“It’s like the Avengers,” Glasnow said. “It’s the best team I’ve ever been on.”
President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes spearheaded the assertive effort to create one of the best rosters in sports. The Dodgers’ masterminds orchestrated what some clubs can only dream of doing.
The Dodgers added two starting pitchers to the rotation in two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell and crown jewel of the international signing class Roki Sasaki. The World Series champions kept adding to their pitching staff by signing relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates. The Dodgers also retained their top reliever in 2024, Blake Treinen.
The pitching staff has never looked scarier, and it was arguably the Dodgers’ only weakness heading into October.
The Dodgers retained outfielder Teoscar Hernández and added outfielder Michael Conforto. L.A. also added talent to the infield by signing super utility man Hyeseong Kim.
Let’s not forget, the lineup is still comprised of three MVPs.
There is no shortage of talent in Los Angeles after a successful winter. And the Dodgers are reportedly not finished signing players.
Have any other defending champions acted less like defending champions in baseball?
“We are focused on and tasked with making sure our team is as good as possible,” Gomes said. “If that is creating ire elsewhere, that’s fine, because I think that means our fans are very happy, which is what the goal is. I think the nature of our sport, the nature of the playoff format, you can be technically the best team and it doesn’t guarantee you anything.
Fans will get a first look at the 2025 Dodgers during spring training, which begins in less than two weeks. Pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 11 to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.
It’s almost time for the Avengers to assemble.
