Dodgers Trade Target Being Shopped By Team: Report

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly looking to make a trade to fill their holes in the outfield, and USA Today’s Bob Nightengale revealed the Boston Red Sox are shopping outfielders Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu.

The Dodgers have a hole in left field after Michael Conforto’s contract expired, and are looking to improve in left before the beginning of the 2026 season. Conforto had an underwhelming season in LA, recording career lows across the board, and the Dodgers will hope their next acquisition can better compliment the team on both offense and defense.

Both Abreu and Duran are great options for the Dodgers, as both have plenty of experience playing in the corner outfield positions and had solid seasons at the plate. The Red Sox have four serviceable outfielders in Duran, Abreu, Roman Anthony and Cedanne Rafaela, and are likely looking to unload one of the older two to make room for their young talent.

Duran slowed down a bit in 2025 after his All-Star season in 2024, but still managed respectable numbers throughout the season. He had a .774 OPS through 157 games, recording 16 home runs to go with a career-high 84 RBIs. His speed is a constant threat, as he had led the American League in triples two years running, and has 20 or more stolen bases in each of the last three seasons.

Abreu had an impressive third season in MLB, earning his second Gold Glove and improving his OPS from 2024. His .786 is the best mark he’s recorded in a full season, and his 22 home runs set a new career high following his 15-homer campaign in 2024.

Duran and Abreu are both plus fielders and hit well above average, and would be fantastic additions to the Dodgers lineup. The Dodgers have plenty of talent in their farm system, and could part with one of their seven Top 100 prospects to land one of the duo.

    1. I agree! I think he’s a great trade option for the Dodgers, and the Red Sox are reportedly shopping him.
