A current Los Angeles Dodger and a former Dodger were both named All-Stars for the first time this season, bringing back together two players who’ve shared much of their baseball journey.
Former Dodger Miguel Vargas, now with the Chicago White Sox, made his first All-Star team this year, and he’s celebrating alongside a current Dodger who’s also making his All-Star debut.

Vargas game up in the Dodgers organization alongside Andy Pages, who some believe should be playing in his second Midsummer Classic.
Despite that snub in 2025, Pages has made the most of 2026 and earned an honor that he shares with a teammate who’s like a brother to him.
“My mom, she loves Andy as her son,” Vargas explained. “We played the whole minor leagues together, from Arizona League to Triple-A.”
How did Miguel Vargas and Andy Pages grow close?
The two were roommates in Triple-A ball when they played for the Oklahoma City Comets, and Vargas and his family filled a hole left by the absence of Pages’ family, who remain in Cuba.
“I know how hard it is for all the Cuban guys to be in this station, and for him to be apart from his family and parents,” he said.

Vargas said he’s also inspired by seeing Pages’ success.
“To see him where he is right now, it means a lot for me. He’s my brother and an example for me,” Vargas said. “He’s younger than me, but he’s always been an example for me.”

They even share some common interests — and disinterests.
“We’re all the same; we don’t know how to cook,” Vargas joked. “We played ‘MLB the Show.'”
