Freddie Freeman Provides Exciting Injury Update After Return to Dodgers
After losing four games on their trip to the east coast, the Los Angeles Dodgers earned a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs in their return to Chavez Ravine Friday night. The defending champions have yet to lose a game at Dodger Stadium this season.

One of the many highlights from the matchup was the return of first baseman Freddie Freeman to the lineup. Freeman was activated from the injured list just hours before first pitch.
The Dodgers superstar was placed on the IL with a right ankle sprain after slipping in the shower. The freak accident caused Freeman to tweak his ankle, the same one that hampered him throughout the postseason and was surgically repaired this winter.
Freeman provided an update on how his ankle has progressed since taking time off to recover.
“I hate to admit it,” Freeman said, “but I might have needed these 10 days.”
The 35-year-old began the 2025 season with an ankle that was not 100 percent healed. Freeman’s trip to the IL helped the first baseman recovery fully.
“It was actually very valuable,” Freeman said of the IL stint. “This is the best I’ve felt since I got hurt. Better than before the Tigers series. So this was huge. I feel really good.
“I feel as free as I possibly can be now, way better than I have the last few weeks. I feel like I could steal a base.”
From the onset of the season, the Dodgers have already faced adversity with players getting injured or becoming ill. However, the defending champions are hoping to continue finding success this weekend in front of a home crowd at Dodger Stadium.
