Going Bananas in LA: Savannah Bananas Announce Dodger Stadium Debut

A baseball sensation that’s been selling out stadiums across the country is coming to Los Angeles.

The Savannah Bananas will be playing at Dodger Stadium on Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24, their first time playing in the baseball cathedral.

If you want to buy tickets, you need to act now, as the lottery closes Saturday night.

What are the Savannah Bananas?

The Bananas play baseball, but with a twist, something akin to the Harlem Globetrotters, featuring acrobatics, dance routines and much more.

“Get ready for nonstop entertainment, bunches of laughs, and baseball with a twist, featuring the Savannah Bananas and Firefighters,” the Dodgers said on their website.

Banana Ball, as it’s known, is “a fast-paced, fans-first version of baseball unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” the team said on its website.

“Created by the Savannah Bananas, Banana Ball is packed with 11 unique rules designed to keep the action non-stop and the crowd on their feet from the first pitch to the last out,” the Bananas added. “From the no-walks rule to the point-per-inning system, every aspect of Banana Ball is designed with one goal in mind: entertain the fans. It’s baseball reimagined, and once you watch it, you can’t go back.”

Other tweaks include a ban on bunting, walks turning into base running sprints and fan involvement, including the ability to record an out by catching a foul ball.

It might not be MLB, but given the strong possibility of a lockout heading into the 2027 season, it’s possible this could be the only time baseball is being played at Dodger Stadium for the foreseeable future.

And if the MLB season goes on as planned, the Bananas will play while the Dodgers are on the road in Washington, D.C.

How do I get tickets to the Savannah Bananas?

Demand for Bananas tickets is typically very high, so the team offers tickets through a lottery system.

For these games at Dodger Stadium, fans must enter the lottery by 9 p.m. PT on Saturday, Oct. 31.
