How Does MLB’s Proposal to Owners Affect the LA Dodgers?

MLB and the MLBPA have officially begun negotiations with the hopes of having baseball back by early July. We break down MLB’s proposal and tell you how the changes will affect the Dodgers’ quest to end their thirty-two year World Series drought.

Plus, we react to Blake Snell saying, “It’s just not worth it, to play in 2020 for reduced pay.”

This is an understandably hot topic at the moment. In fact, Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw had this to say on Friday.

If it deems medically that we’re able to play and the two sides can’t figure out the business side of it…it’s not going to look good on anybody. If we can figure it out medically I’m optimistic that we can play.

  1. Any player who refuses to play in 2020 should be banned from the majors for 2 years. Everyone needs to understand how badly the world needs to restore entertainment and when the ump says Play Ball, the emphasis must be on PLAY. they will never have a place to spend their fortunes if they don’t play.

  2. Hopefully they won’t let money stand in the way of playing. I am not familiar with the proposal, but hopefully both sides will bend a little so we can get at least half the games in this season, otherwise it will hurt the game of baseball.

  3. What I heard at first was the players wanted to come back and play ASAP no matter what. Then I hear the players union is holding things back. then I heard some players wouldn’t be ready. What the heck is going on here? Now I hear there are some cry babies that don’t want to play because they won’t get their full pay? Hey! At least you’re coming back to play not hard labor. And for millions not $15-20 bucks an hour you wimps. How many kids and or adults are going to drop you as one of their hero’s? Come on, suck it up and play.
