While at first, it was reported that Roberts’ contract extension was “slightly over” $32 million per season, Jon Heyman of the New York Post has revealed the exact details of the deal.
“Roberts’ new Dodgers deal is believed to be for $32.4M for four years,” Heyman wrote on X. “Roberts has won two World Series and is the winningest manager by percentage at .627 (minimum 1,000 games).”
At $32.4 million, Roberts will get $8.1 million per season, which surpasses Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell, who gets $8 million per season on his five-year, $40 million deal.
Roberts deserved to be the highest-paid manager in MLB history, and the Dodgers have officially rewarded him.
