It was reported by Casey Porter of Dodgers Daily that Outman was set to be recalled on Friday amid the Jason Heyward injury. Now, he’s at Dodger Stadium ahead of the team’s series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Heyward provided an unsettling update on his injury on Thursday, saying it’s something he hasn’t felt before. He underwent imaging on Friday, and now Outman is in Los Angeles.

An official update should come on Heyward soon, but for now, it appears Outman will be getting recalled for the Dodgers. After being optioned in May, Outman has gotten his footing in Triple-A, slashing .279/.393/.531 with nine home runs, 21 RBIs, and an OPS of .924.

For what it’s worth, neither Heyward nor Outman are in the starting lineup on Friday against the right-handed Aaron Civale, who’s making his Brewers debut.
