James Outman’s Locker Removed From Dodger Stadium

Dodgers outfielder James Outman had his locker removed from Dodger Stadium. The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya reported the news on Friday.

This comes on the heels of outfielder Jason Heyward being reinstated from the injured list. Additionally, Miguel Vargas will be called up, initially reported by Francys Romero and later confirmed by Dodgers Nation.

Heyward is in the lineup on Friday batting eighth, while Vargas is at Dodger Stadium.

Outman, 27, has struggled mightily in his second full season at the major league level. In 36 games, Outman is hitting .147/.250/.266 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, and 40 strikeouts. His OPS-plus sits at 48, 52 percent below league average.

Outman hasn’t been able to bust out of this slump all year, so the Dodgers are likely sending him down to Triple-A to clear his head and refine his swing.

No move has officially been made yet, but with Heyward in the lineup on Friday, an announcement has to be coming.

  1. It almost sounds like Outman got traded?!
And hopefully CT3 is the other guy getting Optioned; just tell Chris to leave his throwing arm with Pages or Outman , going out the door. Only Defensive issues those two have, is a lil below avg arms

    1. It’s about time that the Dodgers did something about the players not hitting and tbe team losing to baseball teams that have lost more games than what they have won.

    2. Mostly agree with you bro. But pages has a gun. Superb arm strength on that boy.

  2. When are they gunna send down the damn manager?! How long can they keep settling for division champ when the ball boy can manage these teams to that?!

  3. He was my favorite new dodger but…..something had to be done. He has lost his confidence level and hopefully sending him back to triple A will help him get it back. I would love to see him back again in the future but….right now we need solid players. He was really struggling and it was hard to watch.

  4. Is this a joke yet again by the great coach Robert’s while CT is hitting .90 it seems outman is out slugging him by those standards

  5. He was the main reason I watched every night so far this season. I’m pretty new to baseball, and the first time I saw him was obviously a high night for him. I have total faith in him. This isn’t the last we’ve seen of him, and next time he’ll probably be on the other team. Watch out, Dodgers. (And best to you, James.)

    1. He can’t hit playing either. Hey I’ve been a Dodger fan my whole life. I like CT-3 a lot and wish him well. Along with Outman they’re both good ball players. They’ll be back, hopefully.

  6. Dodgers need a third baseman, move Muncy to second base and trade for a stud young starting pitcher, and young shut down closer. Like the Giants closer. I know it is a lot but championship or bust! Lets Geaux Dodgers.

    1. First Muncy cannot play second base doesn’t have the range, easy to say go out and get another top end starter, and a closer,, easier said than done.

  7. Outman is my favorite new Dodger. They have shaken his confidence so hopefully he will be back sooner than later. His is a phenomenal athlete.

    1. Outman is a great outfielder, if only he can get his swing back again. Pages is a Big Question Mark to say the least. He came on too strong though. Another guy I wish could get his stuff together is Austin Barnes. I mean come on already. I feel for him, I really do. He’s a good catcher and why doesn’t anyone help him with his offense.

  8. Yet They still keep Chris Taylor who is hitting under 0.50.
What dirt does she have on Dodgers management that he keeps the job year after year?

  9. Changes to make the team better have to be made by the leadership, I hope his career picks up in the future.

  10. He was optioned down to AAA. Very common for younger players who are struggling to go back down to the minors to get their swing back. Really no big deal and quite common.
