SportsNet LA Reveals Dodgers’ 2024 Broadcast Schedule, Talent Lineup
SportsNet LA announced its talent lineup and Dodgers broadcast schedule for the 2024 season.
The Dodgers’ regional sports network announced it will air 25 Spring Training and more than 140 regular season games this year. The first: Thursday’s Cactus League opener against the San Diego Padres.
As previously announced, SportsNet LA’s spring training coverage will also include exhibition games in South Korea on Saturday, March 16 at 8 p.m. PT and Monday, March 18 at 3 a.m. PT.
The network will also televise the three “Freeway Series” games against the Los Angeles Angels from March 24-26.
SportsNet LA will return its entire talent lineup from 2023. Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser return as the Dodgers’ primary play-by-play broadcaster and game analyst, respectively. Stephen Nelson, who called more than 50 games last season, returns for his second year as Davis’ primary backup.
When Hershiser is not in the analyst’s chair, those duties will rotate among Jessica Mendoza, Eric Karros, Nomar Garciaparra and Dontrelle Willis.
Kirsten Watson will serve as field reporter while also contributing to the network’s studio programming. Dodgers Cactus League games on SportsNet LA will be called by Tim Neverett and analyst Rick Monday.
The season premiere of Backstage:Dodgers will be a special one-hour episode on March 28. According to Tuesday’s announcement, the episode will feature “Dodgers’ offseason activities, including the acquisitions of Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow, and the Dodgers’ trip to South Korea to open the 2024 regular season.”

i was hoping they’d announce a streaming deal similar to the lakers for the cable cutters like me.
I was hoping for the same thing. Especially needs to happen before my mlb.tv subscription renews next week so I can compare pricing.
Same. Sucks that you have to have Spectrum to see our team.
I was hoping they would rid themselves of Mendoza and her incessant giggling and laughing at things not the least bit funny.
I think Jessica Mendoza is awesome. Very knowledgable about the game. And she and Joe have good chemistry in the booth. Try to appreciate that if you can.
I wish they would rid you from this post!!!!!
You’re GONE coco.
I can’t stand her either. In fact, when she is in the booth I listen to the other team’s broadcasters. She is way too technical for me.
There are obvious reasons why Jessica Mendoza will be in the broadcasting booth — the least of which is her broadcasting ability. Jessica has never had an original thought about the game. Every comment she makes is scripted. I would like to see more women involved in baseball broadcasting, and there are many who could offer an insight or opinion that would enhance the broadcast. Unfortunately, Jessica is not one of them. As much as I don’t like to turn off the sound, I would rather listen to me rather than Jessica Mendoza. That’s pretty sad because I’m just not that interesting either.
I agree. I’d rather turn off the volume and just watch the game with no sound than listen to Jessica. Her laugh after each statement is so annoying. I watch every Dodger game and I can’t stand it when she’s on.
I also turn off the volume or listen to the other team’s broadcasters. Sad, but way better than listening to her.
Mendoza is below average. I’m a woman who supports women but she’s not right for this job. She’s not interesting. I know she has knowledge of the game but she never played baseball only softball, two different games. Steven Nelson is just as bad. I’m bored by him even game he announces. Joe and Orel are the best. Bring back Rick and Charlie.
Just call it what it is… They are a “WOKE” organization.. They HAVE to check all the boxes. Has nothing to do with talent. We all know this.
Very well stated, Neil !!!!!! Don’t the Dodgers realize that they are not helping “women’s causes” by using an inferior broadcaster? Mendoza is hurting those causes. There are many women who could contribute to the Dodger broadcast. Unfortunately, Mendoza is not among them.
Wouldn’t it be great if all announcers could start off each game by saying: “It’s time for Dodger baseball!”. They could say it in memory of Vin Scully, and to keep his legacy alive. Make it very respectful, and that will be a beautiful thing.
I’ve been a Dodger fan since 1947. My wife and I haven’t missed a Dodger game on MLBtv this year. We also enjoy the pre-game and post-game shows. However, we are sick and tired of listening to Jerry Hairston Jr. His incessant pontificating and repeating what Nomar Garciaparra, Adrian Gonzalez or Dontrelle Wayne Willis has already said. He is so boring we turn the audio off when Jerry speaks. The pre-game amd post-game shows when Jerry is not on are so much better. Get rid of Jerry!!!!
And regarding Jessica Mendoza, we appreciate her knowedge of the game. We enjoy her commentating and are looking forward to when she returns to the broadcast boothe.
Please stop using Jessica Mendoza on telecasts! I’m a lifelong fan of the Dodgers and this is the first commentator that makes me turn the channel! Please DO NOT BRING HER BACK!
Nearing the end of the season, and I am of the firm belief that Joe Davis all too frequently puts negative energy about Dodger performers out into the universe. His comments on past poor performance tend to perpetuate more of the same, and his comments on past good performances are often jinxes. His constant babbling is also super annoying.
I’m so disappointed, mostly in the Dodgers, that they allowed Jessica Mendoza to broadcast the three most important games of the entire season. She has been the “color man (or lady) ” for many seasons on various networks and has always been fired. As egotistical as it sounds, I think the Dodgers owe their fan base an apology. Now it appears that she will lend her incompetence to next seasons’ broadcasts. WHAT A SHAME !!!!!!!!
Ughhh! For one of the biggest markets in MLB, the SNLA announcers are dreadful. Jessica is probably a very nice person, but she should not be in the booth – I cringe every time she opens her mouth with “nothingness” and cliches. And the others are just plain boring and predictable in their play-calling and “color” comments. Most of the TV announcers won’t “call it like it is”, unlike Rick Monday and Charlie Steiner who are thoughtful, precise, and……..great. I wish there was a way to listen to Rick and company while watching the game on TV. I also enjoy Jerry Hairston who actually calls it straight and accurately, as well. The rest….well let’s just say they torture me. Vinny, we miss you!
Mendoza is like listening to someone trying to broadcast a catfishing tournament… Well, he has to bite on that pitch!! Nothing she says ever happens. Weak….Boring and the Dodgers are a joke for trying to make 1 % happy by forcing their fans to stomach her ineptness on a microphone..
