Teoscar Hernandez Believes Cold Weather Has Impacted Dodgers Losing Streak
The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the season 8-0, but have since lost four of their last five games, including three straight.

This early season losing streak has coincided with their East Coast trip, which has forced them to play in much colder conditions than they’re used to.
While the cold weather isn’t exactly an excuse for their poor play, outfielder Teoscar Hernández noted that it does make a difference.
“As a player it’s a little hard,” Hernández said of the cold weather after Tuesday’s 8-2 loss to the Washington Nationals. “I was six years on this side (of the country), where it’s cold early in the season. Then when I get to L.A. last year it was my first year playing those early games with no cold weather. It’s a big difference. Especially when you’re not used to it, it can make a big difference.”
Up until Tuesday’s beatdown, the Dodgers seemed to be hurting themselves with mistakes in each loss. Bad base running, poor fielding, and uncharacteristic at-bats have led to this losing streak.
Hernández didn’t want the cold weather to be an excuse, though.

“We’re not used to playing in the cold. But it cannot be an excuse for us to perform different,” Hernández said. “But they’re hitting the ball pretty good, getting on base, scoring runs. We’re just not putting together good at-bats. We’re not getting on base and everything is not going the way we want. That’s the game. We just need to bounce back tomorrow.”
The Dodgers are looking to avoid being swept on Wednesday in the series finale. Fortunately for the Dodgers, they’re off on Thursday as they travel back to warm-weathered Los Angeles for a six-game home stand.

WELL, they got swept in Wednesday so, so much for that idea. The cold didn’t seem to bother the Nationals or Wood who hit two homers. If that is all it is, then with warm weather around the corner their should be an instant improvement to the on field results. If not, then some of the players need an attitude adjustment like getting back to playing like champions and not like guys waiting for the post season to happen. There are a lot of games still to be played between now and then. Don’t screw it up with lame mental excuses which is all this is. BUCK UP!
I’m old … very old. I remember in 1977, in Philadelphia, when the Dodgers played the Phillies in game five of the playoffs (they only played five back then) and they played in a monsoon. Well, the Dodgers won but all the Phillies could talk (complain) about was the terrible conditions. That is similar to the Washington series. Just like Philadelphia, it also was cold on the Nationals side of the field. It was also raining on the Dodgers side of the field in 1977. …. NO LAME EXCUSES !!!!!!!!!!!
