As the World Cup kicks off and takes over Los Angeles, there is no shortage of watch parties, community events and fan activations around the city. One thing you can count on LA to do islean into its star power, with plenty of live music and entertainment to keep you busy all weekend long.

For soccer fans of all ages, the Academy Museum is opening its doors for a free program featuring soccer movies, leaning into the sport’s cinematic energy and the adrenaline of the World Cup’s opening weekend. The chosen movies of Bend It Like Beckham, Jaws: The Tour (En Español), Shaolin Soccer and Offside will all be showcased in 35mm film in the museum’s state-of-the-art theaters. Groups in attendance can also expect tacos, pizza, fruit and more.

FIFA Fan Fest

Dates: June 12-14

Location: LA Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park

This global celebration of the beautiful game will be full of culture, live watch parties and immersive experiences fit for the biggest futbol fan around. With SoFi Stadium hosting multiple games throughout the month, LA has become a hub for fans from around the world, and the Coliseum is planning a diverse event with cultural programming, a world tour of food, all mixed in with a little bit of classic LA style. 

Michelob ULTRA Pitchside Club 

Dates: June 12-25

Location: Santa Monica Pier

This 21+ experience spans multiple dates throughout the duration of the World Cup, turning LA’s iconic Santa Monica Pier into an epicenter for soccer activations. Fans will have the opportunity to customize their own Michelob Ultra kits, compete in a virtual head-to-head with Messi and experience the “Men in Blazers” live, all right off the coast.

LACMA Jazz Night 

Date: Friday, June 12, at 6 p.m.

Location: Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Smidt Welcome Plaza

It isn’t an LA summer without the return of Jazz Nights at the LACMA, which kicked off in May. This Friday, music lovers can expect sounds from the Ralph Moore Quartet. With the city building out more metro lines ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games, getting to the museum is easier than ever with the new D Line’s Wilshire/Fairfax Station dropping attendees off right around the corner. Food trucks Habibi Shack and Kreung Kitchen will be available.

Blue Note Jazz Fest

Date: June 13-14 at 6 p.m.

Location: Hollywood Bowl

Blue Note Jazz Fest returns this weekend with a star-studded lineup featuring Patti LaBelle, Samara Joy, Wyclef Jean, and many more. Taking place at the Hollywood Bowl, the event is bring-your-own-bottle, so you can pack your cooler and get ready for a night of live music and grooving under the stars. 

DroneArt Show: Harry Potter

Date: Saturday, June 13, at 6 p.m.

Location: Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium

Celebrating 25 years of Harry Potter, a new DroneArt Show all about the wizarding world is premiering at Dodger Stadium. Watch as 1,200 drones light up the sky to recreate fan-favorite moments from the movies, set to the series’ signature soundtracks and dialogue. Fans in attendance will also get to immerse themselves in photo ops, trivia and Butterbeer.
