Tommy Edman Returns for Dodgers’ Potential Series-Clincher

The Los Angeles Dodgers brought Tommy Edman back into the starting lineup after he missed two consecutive games.

Edman got hit in the foot with a on Saturday, taking him out of the lineup over the last two games with soreness in his right ankle. He briefly featured in the Dodgers’ extra-inning win against the Colorado Rockies on Monday, stepping up to the plate once and laying down a sacrifice bunt.

Who is starting for the Dodgers?

Justin Wrobleski will start for the Dodgers, making his first appearance on the mound since being snubbed from the National League All-Star roster. Wrobleski has been one of the best pitchers in the league this year, posting just a 2.80 ERA through 93.1 innings pitched.

He is the only Dodger to have reached 10 pitching wins this season.

Who is in the Dodgers’ lineup?

The Dodgers have kept the start of their lineup the same for most of the last month, as designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads off with center fielder Andy Pages and first baseman Freddie Freeman following him, though shortstop Mookie Betts isn’t in the lineup.

Third baseman Max Muncy bats fourth in Betts’ stead, followed by Edman, who moves to the No. 5 spot and is in left. Right fielder Kyle Tucker bats sixth, followed by catcher Dalton Rushing, who hit the walk-off single in yesterday’s game. Alex Freeland steps in as the Dodgers’ second baseman, and Miguel Rojas is in for Betts at shortstop.

Who is starting for the Rockies?

Right-hander Michael Lorenzen will start for the Rockies, looking to replicate his last performance against LA. Lorenzen threw five innings against the Dodgers in April, allowing just three runs—a rare occurrence for him this season. The former All-Star has a 6.91 ERA this season, and leads the league in losses and hits allowed.

The Dodgers lost their last matchup against the Rockies in which Lorenzen started, and will hope they can change the result tonight as they look for a series win. First pitch comes at 7:10 p.m. PT.
