Yohan Ramirez’s Locker Removed From Dodger Stadium

Yohan Ramirez’s locker has been removed from the Dodger Stadium clubhouse, signaling that he has likely been designated for assignment.

The Dodgers need to clear a 40-man and active roster spot for left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw on Thursday, and it appears Ramirez has been DFA’d to do just that.

Ramirez, 29, made 27 appearances for the Dodgers this season, going 0-4 with a 5.52 ERA.

As for Kershaw, he’s returning on Thursday for the first time this season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery to repair the glenohumeral ligaments in his shoulder. Kershaw went 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA in 2023, before struggling in his one and only postseason start.

Kershaw is just 56 strikeouts away from joining the exclusive 3,000-strikeout club.

UPDATE: Kershaw has officially been activated off the 60-day injured list. Ramirez has officially been designated for assignment. Read more here.

  1. Well Hallelujah!…..This took way to long to get him off the roster. Watching him throw the game away last night was painful. I’m not one of the Roberts haters you often see here but why the hell did he leave him in there so long? That game was winnable but Ramirez took care of that!

    1. ISaid The Same Thing.. An Way Too Long. Dave Threw in The White Towel.. Some Times His MANAGER Duties Kill

    2. Dave Roberts wsits till the game is outta reach then he trots out to take the pitcher out.

    3. Roberts always has a habit of leaving pitchers that don’t do well in too long simes like he favors the bad ones that’s why the Dodgers lose the games most of the time.

    1. He has been terrible. Leave it to Roberts, he leaves pitchers in tooong, or pulls them too soon!!

      1. Everyone is an expert. Unbelievable
Ramirez should have been booted after the Tigers debacle

        1. Dave Roberts is certainly not an expert. He’s got a history of mishandling the pitching staff.

  3. Not impressed with Roberts managerial skills either, but I think analytics drives most of his decisions and I doubt he would have a job if he didn’t go off what the computer says. An added irony is before the 3 batter minimum went into effect, he was notorious for overmanaging and pulling a pitcher, multiple pitchers in one game, after one batter. After having them warm up 3 different times, sometimes they pitched a whole game in the bullpen just waiting to come in.

Yeah, I liked the game better when you gave the ball to Koufax or Drysdale, or Fernando or Orel for that matter, expect them to finish the game and maybe throw a shutout, but as of now that era is long gone.

  5. I thought the Dodgers got rid of Yohan Ramirez.. Oh wait they did. That was Phillips, Hudson and Trienan doing their best impression of him tonight – 5 runs in one, yes ONE inning of work. Nice work AssHats! Time for Phillips to go; he has been abysmal at best over the past 3 weeks.
