Dodgers Announce Bobby Miller’s Next Rehab Start, Plans to Activate

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller could be back on the big league mound very soon. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Miller will make another rehab start on Thursday with Triple-A Oklahoma City. That could end up being his last.

The 25-year-old last pitched in the major leagues on April 10 against the Minnesota Twins. Miller has been on the 15-day injured list since April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation, and his injury has taken longer than expected to heal.

With Miller’s return on the horizon, the Dodgers’ rotation could see some changes. He will be joining Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, James Paxton, Tyler Glasnow, and Gavin Stone, potentially forcing the team to use a six-man rotation. This strategy could prove beneficial, considering Yamamoto’s pitching schedule still adjusting to the States, Paxton’s injury history, and Buehler’s recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Miller has been on rehab assignment since May 26. He made two starts in Single-A and moved to Triple-A on June 7, where he did much better. His last appearance was quite stellar. On Friday, Miller pitched four innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out two batters and walking another two.

It’s unclear when he will be added to the big league roster, but the move could be as soon as next week. Thursday will be the big day, telling us everything we need to know regarding Miller and his potential return. Little by little, the Dodgers are getting back to form.
