Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernández Wins Major Award After Dominant Series vs Yankees

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández has taken home National League Player of the Week honors following a dominant series against the New York Yankees.

Hernández, 31, won the award in the NL, while Aaron Judge won it in the American League.

Hernández is coming off an incredible series against Judge’s Yankees were he went 6-for-12 with three home runs, two doubles, and nine runs batted in. Over the entire week, he slashed .360/.429/.960 with four home runs and 10 runs batted in.

Hernández’s dominant week is just a microcosm of his incredible first year in Los Angeles.

On the year, Hernández is slashing .266/.333/.516 with a team-leading 16 home runs and 48 RBIs.

Over the weekend, Hernández spoke with Bill Ladson of MLB.com, who asked him about his impending free agency. Hernández made it clear he wanted to stay.

The Dodgers would be wise to keep him long-term.
