Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers Blake Snell and Emmet Sheehan both took part in a historic event for the Los Angeles area.
How the Dodgers are helping Altadena rebuild
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, in partnership with the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, broke ground on Dodgers Dreamfields Nos. 69 and 70 at Charles S. Farnsworth Park in Altadena.
The Dodgers Dreamfields will support children of all ages in playing baseball and softball, helping open access to America’s pastime.
They are upgrading the surfacing and areas, along with bringing a ton of other equipment. The investment totals $1.4 million.

Charles S. Farnsworth Park was among the areas affected by the devastating Eaton Fire in January 2025, losing a building, offices, and amenities.
Now, Dodgers Dreamfields is helping to reshape the park and offer baseball for the affected local community.
In the past, Shohei Ohtani and other players have not been shy about donating money to the Dodgers Dreamfields Project.
Blake Snell opens up on the Dodgers Dreamfields
When Dodgers Nation’s Noel Sanchez asked about the impact parks had on him, Snell revealed how playing sports shaped him.
“I mean, that’s all I did. It was either a basketball court or a football field or a baseball field every day of my life,” Snell said,
“And my kids, they’re going to do the same thing. For them to have both of these fields and to hear the stories, it’s going to be, I’m so excited.
“I’m going to come back for sure and see what it turns into. I know it’s going to be, you know, top of the line. They deserve it, and I can’t wait to see it.”
Snell also took time to praise the Altadena community for its resilience and strength amid the devastating fires that hit the area hard.
“Yeah, I remember when I first got here, seeing it, hearing about it, I couldn’t believe it. I was just like, how do people get through that?,” Snell revealed.
“And then almost two years later, to see where they’re at and how far they’ve come, it shows a lot about LA, the communities in LA.
“This is something they really deserve here, and I can’t wait for them to have it.”
