Get ready for a GOAT sighting in the broadcast booth.
Los Angeles Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw is set to broadcast Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
He’ll appear in the SportsNet LA coverage of the game and will fill in the color commentary spot normally held by Orel Hershiser and Eric Karros.
Kershaw will be joined by play-by-play announcer Joe Davis and field reporter Kirsten Watson.
This will be Kershaw’s first time broadcasting for SportsNet LA in an official capacity, reports Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
It will only be for the first game of the three-game series in Atlanta, with Hershiser returning for the last two games.
What is Clayton Kershaw doing now?
Kershaw retired after the 2025 season, bringing to an end a career that will surely land him in the Hall of Fame in a few years.
He racked up a 223-96 record and career ERA of 2.53 in his 18 seasons, which also included 11 All-Star appearances, three Cy Young Awards and a Gold Glove.
He was named National League MVP in 2014, a year in which he also pitched a no-hitter.
He also won three World Series titles with the Dodgers.
Kershaw, now 38, is a special assistant in the Dodgers’ baseball operations department, and he also works as an analyst for “Sunday Night Baseball” on NBC Sports.
He’s appeared on “Sunday Night Baseball” twice thus far this season, both of which were Dodgers games.
While it would be easy to assume that Kershaw could feel underutilized, his comments ahead of the season starting indicated that he likely wanted some time off.
“There’s a freedom with retirement,” Kershaw said in March, as reported by Ardaya. “If you don’t want to work out, you don’t have to. If your back hurts, it doesn’t matter. If your arm hurts, it doesn’t matter. You get to see a lot more stuff, be around for everything. So there’s a lot of great parts. It doesn’t take away from how special playing this game is, but there’s a lot of really awesome parts about being home.”
