The Los Angeles Dodgers won their third World Series title in six years against the Toronto Blue Jays, raising questions on whether or not LA is now considered a ‘dynasty’ in MLB.
Manager Dave Roberts commented on the matter, but avoided putting a label on the Dodgers.
“We’ve put together something pretty special, I do know that. I’m proud of the players for the fans, scouting, player development, all the stuff,” Roberts said. “To do what we’ve done in this span of time is pretty remarkable. I guess let the pundits and all the fans talk about if it’s a dynasty or not, but I’m pretty happy with where we’re at.”

Roberts spoke about the Dodgers being a dynasty earlier in the postseason, and was a little more sure in his response then.
“I think winning two championships within 10 years is a dynasty. But three — then it’s undisputed,” Roberts said. “I guess we’re vying to be undisputed.”
First baseman Freddie Freeman held the same sentiment as Roberts during the postseason.
“I do believe you’ve got to win more than two in five years to be considered a dynasty, I think,” Freeman said.
“We’ll see. Let’s just keep winning more and more and more. Three in [six] years, I guess you could call it a dynasty.”

The Dodgers have been in control of the NL West for the better part of the last decade and a half, finishing atop the division in 12 of the last 13 years. They broke a 32-year World Series drought in 2020, and have also claimed the last two championships with strong postseason runs.
The New York Yankees were last team to win back-to-back championships in MLB, and did so from 1998-2000.
The Dodgers will look to match the Yankees’ three World Series titles in a row in 2026, as they look for the first three-peat in franchise history.
