Dave Roberts had by far his most difficult managing job ahead of him, but all he did was pull the right strings, and helped navigate the Dodgers to their second World Series title in five years.
With the win, Roberts has not only solidified himself as a Hall of Fame manager, he also cemented himself as one of the greatest managers in MLB history.
Here’s a bit of Roberts’ resume with L.A.:
- 9-for-9 in postseason appearances
- 8 National League West titles
- 4 World Series appearances
- 2 World Series title
- .627 regular season winning percentage
- 56 postseason wins (6th most all-time)
Roberts deserves a lifetime contract with the Dodgers. He deserves to be the manager of the Dodgers for as long as he desires.

To all the Dave Roberts “haters” who have constantly called for him to be fired for mistakes, no matter how minor, Its time to finally SHUT the heck UP!. He did everything he needed to do this year AND MORE. He took a team with a broken down starting pitching core and held it together with masking tape and bailing wire as it were, making the hard decisions that kept the Dodgers in the race, not only for the best record in baseball, but for the World Series title! His use of Bullpen games was masterful and his motivation of the team was legendary as testified to by Ohtani, Freeman, Betts and Teoscar and Kike’ Hernandez. The team carried out a “Blood n’ Guts” effort largely because of Roberts holding the whole busted up operation on the field together as the Sensei the Dodgers needed at the helm. As fans, He has surely earned our trust, respect and thanks for a wonderful year and the patience to see it through for us!
Mr. Dodger, I was one of the anti-Roberts crowd (operative word being WAS). I agree with you on ever with the exception it was masking tape, more likely duct tape. Needed something stronger than masking tape. He did one hell of a job this whole season.
Now it’s off to a successful off season and many more championships.
