Dodger News: Matt Kemp Plays In First Rehab Game

Hey Dodgers Nation I’m Cyrus Palizban here with your Dodgers update. After sitting out the past five weeks rehabbing his ankle, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp played his first Rehab Game last night for Class A Rancho Cucamonga. While he didn’t get any hits, Kemp was at bat 5 times, and ran down the first base line well.

Kemp has not played since July 21st when he sprained his ankle against the Nationals, but is seeking to return just in time for the final stretch of the regular season.

Kemp talked about how he felt more comfortable as the game progressed, and was happy to hit some balls and hear the Dodgers fans cheer him on.

If all goes well in his second rehab game tonight, Kemp is expected to be activated by the end of the weekend once the Dodgers can expand their roster to 40 men.

While 2013 has been an injury hit year for the two time all-star, Kemp sounds like he’s in good spirit and excited to rejoin the team.

With Kemp nearing his return we wanted to know what you thought of the Dodgers possible lineup heading into the playoffs.
