Dodgers Add Yohan Ramirez to Roster, Designate Eduardo Salazar for Assignment

The Dodgers added Yohan Ramirez to their 26-man roster ahead of Monday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The right-handed pitcher was a late addition after being acquired earlier in the day from the New York Mets for cash considerations.

Ramirez, 29, is 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA in 10 appearances this season with the Mets and Baltimore Orioles. He’ll provide relief depth as the Dodgers look to keep their momentum going following three consecutive wins against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Dodgers optioned Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room for Ramirez on their active roster. Knack is 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA in four starts this season, including a 4.2-inning outing Sunday against the Reds.

In a corresponding 40-man roster move, pitcher Eduardo Salazar was designated for assignment. Salazar threw two scoreless innings in his only major league appearance this season with the Dodgers. The 26-year-old right-hander went 1-2 with a 5.61 ERA in seven starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season.
