Dodgers: Astros Cheater Takes Unnecessary Hit At Cody Bellinger

The 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros was one for the ages. It was heartbreaking for all Dodger fans and exhilarating for Astros fans.

That was until we discovered in early 2020 that the Astros cheated in the 2017 season, especially in the ALCS and World Series at their home ballpark, Minute Maid Park.

And since then, Dodger fans have despised the Houston Astros and anymore a part of that Astros team.

One of those players all Dodger fans hate is a former Dodger, Josh Reddick.

Reddick, who now plays for the Perth Heat in the Australian Baseball League, took to Twitter to poke at former Dodger Cody Bellinger and his new contract with the Chicago Cubs.

This is a classic subtweet from Reddick as he took a shot at Bellinger.

I bet he wishes he had half the talent of Cody. You would think he is that guy, but unfortunately for Reddick, he isn’t and never was ‘that guy’ in his time in the Majors.

Reddick spent half a season with the Boys in Blue in 2016 and was sub-par at best in his brief stint. He slashed .258/.307/.335 with a .643 OPS while only hitting two home runs and nine RBIs in 47 games and 155 ABs.

Ironically, one of his best seasons came in 2017 as a member of the Astros as he recorded a career-best in slugging (.484), OPS (.847), and hits (150), and had his second-best RBI season recording 82 in 134 games.

Josh was never half the player Cody was; it’s no surprise that he is out of the league and playing in Australia now when he had to rely on cheating to have his best season before 2012 with the Oakland Athletics.

Even at Cody’s worst, he was better than Reddick in his last three seasons in the league.

Josh just added more fuel to the fire. Like we needed any more reason to hate him.

  1. Dodgers need to quit real quick this BS that Dodgers didn’t have a sign stealing system in 17. Everyone knows from players to GMs. Reddick was on 16 Dodgers and said Dodgers had an illegal sign stealing system. Astros beat Dodgers when all teams used media room to electronically steal signs.

    1. Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t. It just wasn’t as obvious as the Asterisk’s…BANG, BANG, BANG. What do you expect Reddick to say anyway? He was a failure for the Dodgers and only won with the Asterisk’s because they blatantly cheated AND GOT CAUGHT. If we would have had a commissioner with any nads, they would have received penalties rivaling the Boys in Black back in the day or at least would have had to forfeit the Championship. Then most people would have let it go. So go back to your Houston Asterisk’s website and leave true Dodger fans alone…

    2. Exactly. Watch ex Marlins exec David Samson talk about every team having the system in 17. Beltran brought over Yankees system. Astros took the bullet for MLB.

  2. Reddick, Marwin Gonzalez and Evan Gattis never matched 2017. I think Belli never recovered fully from the forearm bump that hurt his shoulder. Regardless, Reddick should let go of the past. He flubbed in LA. Nothing changes that.

  3. Yeah. Reddick was a dodgers cheater too when he played for them before he came to Houston ?. Just ask him and the other ex dodger players that claim the same thing. ? ?

  4. It is literally proven that the Dodgers were doing the exact same thing. Can’t even cheat as well as the Astros XD also try to win a championship in an actually full season. Your Mickey Mouse title is a joke.

  5. Astros are a dynasty and won all road games in 2017 WS!! Also if you know baseball at all, the moment a pitcher gets a signal and throws, it’s about 1 second to react. They tried it cuz they’re big kids and technology is everywhere, but no way in less than 2 seconds a signal from a tv monitor is related to a guy banging a trash can, with 40,000 fans yelling and then you know a fast ball is coming before it’s already in the mitt??? Whatever!!! Astros own you and everyone else!!

    1. Bbfan – some fan you are. The Astros lost games 1 and 6 at Dodger Stadium.
      Get your facts straight, cheater!*

      1. OK you’re correct. But pretty clutch to win game seven on the road to win the ring. Say what you want, but I noticed you don’t defend the reality of a signal being relayed within a second before a pitch is thrown 95 mph to the plate. I’m certain sport science would vouch for that. Everyone tried the stupid sign stealing, such as the Yankees who did get caught and had paid minimal fines (everyone forgets that) and the Red Sox ( they forget that too), but one team continues to win every single year the past six seasons, and that’s the Astros with two World Series championships to prove it and many ALCS’s. Sorry but that’s the facts. Now go clean up your city of crime and drugs all over your streets.

        1. BbFan – So what you’re saying is that the Houston Astros devised and implemented a cheating strategy for 2-3 years that didn’t really work?
          “F”ing brilliant!

          1. No strategy works when a team changes signs. In the playoffs and WS signs are constantly changing.

  6. Reddick talking CRAP about Bellinger. This from a guy whose now plays in Australia.
    What a POS!

  7. It’s sad to hear the fans of “big market” teams like the Dodgers, guilty of financial doping year in and year out, complaining about others cheating. It’s well documented that many teams were involved in sign stealing during the 2017 season and seasons before and immediately after, the only thing that drew the spotlight on the Astros was a bitter weasel (Mike Fiers), let go because he was no longer good enough to to represent a team of the Astros consistent excellence, deciding to whistle blow (and then defend his decision to retain his ring). It seems the world is littered with hypocrites.

  8. …maybe they did… maybe they didn’t… I mean why be big mad because someone did it better than you… Oh Wait… MAYBE THAT IS WHY YOU BIG MAD… And it was 2017… Pretty sure this is 2022…
