Baseball Fans Compare MLB Players to France’s Kylian Mbappe

Although baseball season is over, there’s still quite a lot of action going on in the world of sports including the World Cup out in Qatar.

On Saturday afternoon, France secured their spot in the Semifinals with a Quarterfinal win against England.

France was one of the favorites to win the whole thing led by Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud. Although he’s only 23, Mbappe has been named one of the best players in the world due to his exceptional skills and extraordinary speed.

We asked Dodgers Nation who they would compare Mbappe to in the MLB and here’s what they had to say:

This makes sense. Mbappe is known for his speed which was also compared to that of Usian Bolt…the “fastest man alive.” Recently, Mbappe clocked the fastest speed during the 2022 World Cup at 35kms/hour (22miles/hour) or 32.26 feet per second.

Trea Turner also stands as one of the fastest MLB players in the game with a sprint speed of 30.3 ft/sec. He had a 90% stolen base success rate and this season alone, Turner got 34 hits where he reached an elite 30-plus ft/sec sprint speed, over 1 1/2 times more than any other hitter.

Mbappe, in his first World Cup at 19 years old secured the title against Croatia. He became the second youngest player (after Pele) to score in a World Cup Final.

Mookie Betts and the Boston Red Sox took down our Dodgers back in the 2018 Fall Classic then joined the LA team in 2020. That year, he helped lead the team to a World Series title against the …

Right now Mookie has two championships on Mbappe but with the conclusion of this year’s World Cup, that could change.

And of course, fans had to compare him to one of the best players in baseball right now: Juan Soto.

So Dodgers Nation, do you think there’s anyone else missing from that list?
