Dodgers: Bauer’s Debut, Kenley’s Nearly Immaculate, Gavin Lux’s Job to Lose, & More | Blue Heaven Podcast

Spring training is underway and the Dodgers are already the best team in baseball! Embellishment aside, over the first pair of Cactus League games, the boys in blue have looked locked in on all sides of the ball.

Moreover, Monday marked the highly anticipated Dodger debut for Trevor Bauer. The guys break down what they saw out of the right-hander in game one and some of the things fans should be excited for team-wise with the 2020 Cy Young award winner. Next, Kenley Jansen looked dominant in his first outing of the spring, falling one strike short of an immaculate inning.

Could it be a sign of things to come or will it be closer to fool’s gold?

  1. Glad to see Kenley looking like his dominant self, looking fully recovered from his heart issues, his bout with CoVid and his attempt to make up for his health issues by altering his delivery. Father Time is undefeated so you hold him off with your brain, not your body.

  2. I still have no faith in Kenley Jansen’s ability to close games with his 88 MPH slider, 89 MPH cutter, and 90 MPH four seamer. And Lux should not be gifted with 2B. He should have to earn it like everyone else. Last year Taylor had a BA of 270 and a OPS over 800. If Lux can’t get within mile of those numbers, which he certainly hasn’t so far, Taylor should get the majority of starts, and all of the starts against LHPs. Lux needs to out up some real numbers, or take a seat.
