The Los Angeles Dodgers had a bullpen game on Friday, July 10, after Shohei Ohtani was pulled from his scheduled start, and for a rare occasion this year, it let the team down.
At the start of the game, Kyle Hurt came in and had a rough 1.2 innings, giving up two runs, three hits, a walk, and getting just a strikeout.
Then, Will Klein followed with a solid 1.2 innings, giving up just one run. Brock Stewart, for the first time all season, gave up a run, and it came in pairs as he allowed two runs, three scored total, which came on a home run after issuing a walk.
By then, the game was already 6-2, and with more runs yet to come. In total, Arizona had nine runs in the game, with two more coming off defensively when Edgardo Henriquez was in the game and another one with Evan Phillips in the mix.
Alex Vesia closed out the game with a clean inning. However, every pitcher allowed at least a hit or run, highlighting how rough a night it was pitching-wise.
The Dodgers’ offense goes cold
Ohtani hit a lead-off home run, followed by another through the bat of Andy Pages. However, after that point, the Dodgers did not score another run until the ninth inning.
Andy Pages was outstanding, going three-for-four. Other than Pages, Miguel Rojas was the only player to get multiple hits.
By the end of the game, the Dodgers rested some of their veterans.
The Dodgers play again on Saturday, for their second-to-last game until the All-Star break. Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound in a game where LA will hope for a vintage start, with six or seven innings.

Whos to say they would have won with Ohtani pitching? Its a team game and the way the offense played like bad news bears lol they would have lost anyways…?
